Friends of the Howland Public Library’s goal is to increase community awareness and public support of the Howland Public Library in Beacon, NY.
Established in 1872 by General Joseph Howland, the Howland Public Library has been an enduring part of Beacon and the surrounding towns for over 130 years.
The library has responded to many changes and challenges in that time. An active, vital Friend of the Library group is one important way to ensure the library will continue to thrive.
